Love, Happiness and Hard-work Lives here...amongst other things.

Last night we watched the crowning of the 2017 Miss South Africa, Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters *phew what a long name she has* I think I will call her Demi or Demi-Leigh depending on my mood, yaqonda.

The spectacular event was held at Sun City super bowl with judges Maps Maponyane, Unathi Msengana, Cameron van der Burgh, Bridget Masinga, Gisele Wertheim Aymes, Ezra Davids and former Miss South Africa Claudia Henkel.

I must say, I didn’t have a favourite but I had problems with Iman’s hair it looked wrong too big for her face and badly put. I was also not impressed with most performances like Da Les , Ziyon, Kent and Gemini Major, guys lip syncing is not cute at all especially when you’re not a Beyonce or Britney. Learn to respect your craft so that we can believe in it too.

Runners-up are Adè van Heerden from the Western Cape (1st Princess) and Boipelo Mabe from Alexandra in Gauteng (2nd Princess).
More on perfomances, Lira sesi quit whilst you’re still deemed as good, THAT thing you were doing is not singing. It sounded horrible, from note to note I was cringing on my couch watching you. I think you should have done what Da Les and them did instead of going the “brave” route. Not cute!

Thami you were amazeballs! I don’t know your song but you sang beautifully. Mr Lion King himself showed the young ones how live singing is done. I must say there were moments of him sounding off but it’s Lebo M you gots to forgive. Overall production was 100% on par!

Congratulations Demi! May you slay and win Miss World/ Universe while making a difference throughout your reign. Don’t forget to have fun while doing all these Miss SA deeds!

  1. The black girls didn’t have that ‘thing’ this year. That Odirile girl’s walk was terrible. Lira can’t sing vele, her songs are good, good lyrics, catchy tunes but vocals no no. Beautiful MissSA let’s hope her presence is felt more than the previous girl Ntando

  2. Congratulations to miss sa though I wish my gal had worn but at least she made a top three
